TOUR ROOMS THE COTTAGE THINGS TO DO MAP RATES

The spirit of early Texas ranch living with all the conveniences of today.

Peach Creek Farms Peach Creek Farms' main two story house is the home of your host, John Duncum. Reminiscent of the early days of Texas cattle ranches, the main house is designed to make guests feel "back in time" with all the conveniences of today.

It was the intent of your hosts to create in Peach Creek Farms' main house the warmth and comfort of old fashioned Texas hospitality. Its interior was designed with the openness of the living quarters of early Texas ranches and the exterior construction compliments that style with Hill Country limestone.

The site for the main house is a grove of oak trees with a lake view from the front and pasture all around. The upper forks of Peach Creek frame the property on the east and west. Cattle graze in the pasture and wildlife frequent the lake to the west and the wooded area to the east of the main house.

To honor the heritage of the early Texas pioneer cattlemen, rooms in the main house bear the names of members of an early Texas cattle and farming family, the R. L. Batte family of adjacent Milam County.

Guest rooms are named for Mr. Batte; his grandson, John Summers Batte; John Summers’ wife, Ima; and their daughter and Mr. Batte’s great-granddaughter, Abbie Gayle. The decor in each room reflects the personality of its namesake.

Guests enjoy the warmth of the spacious living room with it's great fireplace, leather furniture, and heart pine floors.Living Room
